  1. How do we know our puppy is a purebred Coton?
    • Your puppy comes with a 3-generation pedigree.
  2. Are your dogs and puppies registered with AKC?
    • Yes. And your puppy will come with prepaid registration. The certificate will be mailed to your home address.
  3. What is “Limited Registration”?
    • Limited registration means your puppy is registered with AKC without breeding rights. Full registration is only offered to qualified show dogs / breeders.
  4. When do I choose my puppy?
    • We recommend you wait until the puppies are around 4 weeks old when their personalities become more prominent. Since we are with the puppies 24/7, we can assist with matching the right puppy to you and your family. You will be able to observe the puppies through several videos and virtual phone calls.
  5. When can I bring my puppy home?
    • Most puppies are ready to go home at ten weeks of age. If you cannot pick up your puppy when it is ready, we will begin charging a boarding fee.
  6. What does my puppy come with?
    • Your puppy comes with a “care package” which includes your puppy’s record book with articles on “how to raise a puppy”, a blanket with scent, a puppy safe toy, a harness, a sample of NuVet, and various items.
    • You will receive his veterinarian-signed health record along with his vaccine and deworming records.
    • Limited AKC registration papers mailed to your home address.

  7. When can I meet my puppy in person?
    • After a deposit is placed, you can visit your puppy at nine weeks of age, after his first vaccine is received and it has had time to take effect. If you are far away, he can be introduced to you by virtual phone calls, so they can see you and hear your voice.
  8. Does my puppy come with a health guarantee?
    • Yes, a 1-year health guarantee that is outlined in our adoption agreement. It is valid upon a vet exam by your veterinarian when you bring your puppy home.
  9. What do I feed my puppy?
    • The name of the food your puppy is eating, doggy chews, and treats we recommend are provided on the supply list.
  10. Shoud I crate train my puppy?
    • Yes! Using a crate will facilitate potty training and the dog will have a secure place of its own when it needs to destress.
  11. What do I need to prepare for a puppy in my home?
    • We will provide a list of items you will need to get started.
  12. What do I need to travel with my puppy?
    • This information is provided on our “new puppy” supply list.
  13. What health testing is done on the parents?
    • These include OFA eye diseases, degenerative joint disease, hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, patellar luxation, congenital cardiac disease and genetic diseases screened by DNA tests available to Cotons.
  14. What health testing is done on the puppy?
    • Your puppy will have received a full vet exam, his first series of vaccines and will be completely dewormed.
  15. Do puppies come potty and crate trained?
    • Puppies will be mostly wee wee pad trained and started on outside potty training. They will be exposed to a crate and several car rides.
  16. Are puppies started with socialization?
    • Puppies get started with socializing per appropriate age and vaccination allowance. We highly recommend that you continue socializing using discretion upon being fully vaccinated.
